Another update

Jay just called again and said that they are about to give Kanyon some of Jaymie's milk. She has been pumping, and they are going to give it to him through a feeding tube. (Before now they have been feeding him some sort of nutrients through an IV in his umbilical cord, I believe.) Pray that he responds well to this.

-
Also, a lot of people have been asking me what they can do and if they should visit or call or what. I asked Jay to find out for me, and for now they would really prefer that you just leave a comment on the blog. They are being printed and taken to them at the hospital continually, so they are getting your messages and feel so blessed by them. But they have been flooded with phone calls and visits and as much as they appreciate them, it is taking up all their time, and they haven't really had time to themselves or time to think about what to do next. No arrangements have been made yet.
-
So if you want to know what you can do, for now just keep praying and leaving comments for them to read. Your support is just so amazing!

Kory and Jaymie,

My friend and I signed up to pray on the chain, but did not read the part about paging you..... sorry! You were before our Father's throne, even if you did not know it....

We hate this and just ache for y'all, even though we KNOW Jayde is held in the tenderest and strongest of arms. We love you and will keep y'all in prayer, especially Mr. Kanyon. We love y'all.

Kory and Jaymie,

Praise God about Kanyon.... This morning when I prayed for you and your family, I prayed over evey part of Kanyon I could think of (organs, senses, bones, etc.) I did that when we were waiting for each of our children because I felt so helpless. I had no control over how they were growing because they were not inside me... I am sure you too feel helpless at times, and I want you to know I will continue to pray for Kanyon to develop and mature and be perfect! Much love!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." I know we all have to cling to this verse because it all doesn't make sense right now. We love you guys soooo much. If I were there I would give you a big hug and squeeze you real tight so I hope you are feeling that right now. Robyn Figgins

Kory,Jayme & Kanyon,
It has been my privilege to pray for you this last 1/2 hour. I have asked our Father to give you the strength you need to accomplish the task He has given you. I have asked that He grant Kanyon perfect health, and have so much faith that He will provide, I have even begun praying for the Chirstian wife he need some day. I have also lifted up your parents. As you both now know, as only parents can, watching your child suffer and struggle is much worse that doing it yourself.
Remember, God loves you and so do Russ and I.
Love,
Kim

We are friends with Frank and Jennifer, but we both grew up in Longview and went to Alpine CoC in the late 90s. Ethan's mother goes to Pine Tree CoC, and she and the church are remembering you as well. Even though we don't know you personally, we feel connected to you, and we have added your family to every prayer list we can think of. Our hearts go out to you.

Kory and Jaymie,

Many people's hearts hurt for you right now because there is no pain like the pain of losing a child. God did not put it in us to have to suffer in such a way. Our first son would have been ten yesterday, so I have been especially prayerful for you in the previous days with feelings words cannot express. We are so sorry for your loss, and will commit to pray for you both for many years to come. I will talk to you after a while.

How sweet the news about Kanyon. May he continue to breathe the breath of life.

In your grief, people around you may feel the need to be very talkative. You will hear both words of comfort and words that are hollow. But God will sit and mourn with you in the silence and make good on His promise to be with us.

I have never prayed harder for anything in my entire life, I felt the same way Rachel did, I just knew from the beginning that they would struggle but that they would both make it and I am still not believing it! I want you guys to know that we are here for you and that we are still praying HARD for MR. KANYON and you guys!!! I am thankful for the progress that he is making! I am praying for God to bring you comfort, peace, and healing during this time! I love you guys so much! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you!!

jaym and kor,

hey guys...i'm glad you two are healthy and i am so sorry about jayde. i can't imagine what this feels like...there are so many things we don't know and don't understand but there are some things i do know about you two: you have some of the sweetest spirits i know. the Lord has blessed me so much to have learned from you guys...to have watched you in your committment to Him, to be lead wherever he would take you and to serve others so whole heartedly. your lives are such a testimony to the poiwer of God before you ever brought any children into this world and that is how i know that God is wiht you guys right now. i'm sure it is so hard to find peace and comfort in such a heap of emotions but you guys have encouraged me in so many ways so i wanted to tell you these lyrics from the song i heard in the car before i got here....i thought of you guys amd i don;'t know if it will help or just make you want to slap me but i am going to try:

I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

i love you guys tons and i am praying for you and strength for kan kan.

I've been on my knees praying for you both and for Kanyon. Specifically, that Kanyon's stomach will have the lining that it needs to tolerate your milk, Jaymie. Also, that his intestines can absorb the nutrients that he needs from the milk. I've been praying for your body to continue to produce milk to nourish him. I've also been lifting your family up to GOd, asking him to cover you with peace and comfort.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea...the Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress...Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth...the Lord Almighty is with us."

I have been amazed to watch this "virtual community" rise up and lift you family up in prayer.

If nothing else rest in the comfort that you are not alone, many stand with you. We will contimue to carry you in our; thoughts, prayer and hopes!
