Exciting news

Well, I just got off the phone with Jaymie, and she had some great news - she may get to hold Kanyon today! One of the nurses mentioned that this morning when she was in the NICU visiting him, and Jaymie is so excited.
-
Also, he is up to 5cc of milk now - what a big eater he is! And they are going to reduce some of the medicine that he is taking to see if that will help him to breathe better. They'll try it for a couple of days, and if it works, they will be able to take him off the ventilator and just keep the tubes in his nose. They haven't gotten the results back from his head scan, but I'll let you know when they do.

Oh wonderful, I know you will enjoy it and soak it all up. I think I will bust into song in honor of little Kanyon...

"My God is so BIG! So Strong and so Mighty there's nothing My God can not do!"

Can you tell I work with the sunday school class since the first song that came to mind is this one? It is still a great song!

Rock away, my sweet cousin, rock away! I know you need this, Jaymie and so does Kanyon.

I just wanted to take a minute to share a poem with you that a friend of mine wrote.

Dear God,

When a little child leaves us....
Our first question is...Why?
Why not let this child live?
Why did she have to die?
How can such a thing occur?
Why couldn't she stay longer?
We have prayed for this sweet child...
"Oh Lord help her grow stronger"...
And still she leaves this place on earth...
Despite each prayer and plea...
To join so many other's...
In sweet eternity...
Her life has taught us many things...
Her journey touched us so...
But why Lord must this happen?
Why did she have to go?

Beloved child,

Your pain has reached the heaven's child...
Please don't think I don't know...
How very much it hurts inside...
To let your child go...
She sits with me this very day...
In heaven up-above...
Surrounded by my angels...
But held still...by your love.
The doubts may always be with you...
And as I hear your cries...
I ask you to consider...
Some of the other "whys"...
Why did her smile light the room...
On the cloudiest of days?
How could she touch a multitude...
In oh so many ways?
Why does her courage guide you...
In ways you can't convey?
Why does her life remind us...
To love..to hope...to pray.
Heaven may seem far away...
Days and months and years....
A longing to see her sweet face...
And wash away your tears...
Have faith child...when I tell you...
Your not truly apart....
You hold a piece of heaven...
Forever in your heart.
Goodbye seems all to final...
"She's gone" just isn't true...
"She lives on in each of us"...
In what we say and do...
Sweetest child... special gift..
Loved beyond all measure...
Only for a little while...
For us to know and treasure.
Hold onto that most joyous day...
A tear,a smile, a sigh...
When she is in your arms again...
You'll never say...goodbye.

Dear Phillips Phamily,

My name is Jenny Nye and I live in Denver, CO. I was catching up on Sarah Floyd's Blog when I came to the part where she mentioned you guys and requested prayers. I decided to go through all of your blog entries to get a better picture of the situation. I went through a mountain of emotions before I reached today's entry. Of which I am thankful to read that Kanyon is thriving.

I can't even begin to imagine your mountains. I just wanted to let you know in the most simple of terms, my heart and prayers are with you all. I pray that Kanyon grows to be a strong child and lives like he has 2 lives to live. I pray this not as a burden on him but as an expression strength and love.

I am sorry that this is your story to share but I am thankful that you are willing to let the body of Christ be apart of it.

God Bless

I hope and pray that you do get to hold Kanyon today. What a wonderful blessing! It will be so good for him to feel your skin against his, smell your scent, and hear your voice. When I worked NICU and we did this with the babies & their parents, they did so well and usually just thrived! I know you'll treasure every second of it! Our prayers are still going up to the Father, the Ultimate Healer, for you and Kanyon.

Sydni's stories of your weekend filled my heart with joy and peace. She said it was hard, of course, but also a blessing in so many ways. Many, many people have asked me how your weekend went, so I will now be able to share with them about it.

We are so pleased to continue to hear such good news about Kanyon!! Praise God that His power and wisdom are at work in this situation as in all situations. Praise God that He supports and comforts us. What's the saying, "Where God guides, he provides." Thank you for training your eye on His Word during this time, instead of allowing the gamut of emotions to distract you from our Focus. Ps. 54:4 "Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is the sustainer of my soul," (in everything that every day can possibly bring).

Blessings as you continue this journey in the love of Christ and His people.

Love,

Jeremy & Sunny Folding, Natasha, and Justus

Just finished our prayer time for you all. I know God is already working on answers before we even ask. He is the Father who anticipates our needs even before we ask, just as you will do for Kanyon.
Enjoy every minute of every touch when you hold that sweet baby!
We love you and will continue to lift you up in prayer. (I pray every time I wake up during night)

From Paula Schweikhard.
I've been thinking about you guys constantly since Kory called Scott the night the twins were born. I've cried and teared up off and on for over a week now so many times like I know everyone else has keeping up with this blog and waiting for the latest news. I just read that sweet poem that someone posted and I'm crying again. This morning before lunch I squealed out loud with excitement at work when Scott called to see if I had read the latest that you, Jaymie were going to get to hold sweet Kanyon. Mostly I just wanted to say, just like everyone else that I have been praying so hard for Kory and Jaymie and Jayde and Kanyon and for your families…And I’ve been touched by watching the number of visitors climb way up into the thousands each day. What a blessing to see Christians sharing the pain and the joy. I can’t wait to visit your new family. You must know that your family means so much to Scott and to me. You are dear, dear people and our hearts are with you. I’m glad Scott was able go to you in your time of need. Our prayers will continue and we are sad when you are and we will rejoice with you also.
God bless you,
Paula and Scott, too.
