Not a great day
Well, Kanyon had a good afternoon with no apnea, but this evening he hasn't done as well. He had several more spells of apnea and low heart rate, and they had to increase his oxygen level to 80 on the CPAP, which is much higher than normal for him. They might have to put him back on the ventilator. They have put him on a strong antibiotic because they think he may possibly have some sort of infection, but they are doing tests to find out for sure. If he doesn't actually have an infection, they don't want to have him on the antibiotic unnecessarily. They think his problems could also be caused by reflux, so they are going to spread out his feedings, meaning they are going to take 2 hours to give him a feeding rather than 30 minutes. He is also going to have an echocardiogram in the morning to check on his heart. If he were still in the womb, this is the time frame where certain crucial things happen with the heart, and they just need to make sure that those things are still happening correctly. I know that's pretty vague, but I didn't talk to Jaymie directly, and I don't understand completely what they are checking for. Anyway, just pray that the echocardiogram and the other tests come back with positive results, pray for no infection, and pray for his heart rate and his breathing to improve.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6
Take it one step at a time, know that people ALL over the world are praying with you and praying comfort over you. I pray for peace to wash over you during this time because I am sure every little step especially a if it means a step backward makes you both nervous. I pray that you rest fully in whatever decision the doctors decide, even if it means putting kanyon back on the ventilator. I pray for health-for the three of you. I pray for rest for the three of you. I pray for his little heart beat to slow down and I pray for Kanyon's breathing to improve. And I pray for those outside of the family that they may see the Glory of God revealed during your journey.
We love you dearly!
Still praying for you here in Hallsville! Praise God for all He has done in little Kanyon this far! And all He will do!

praying for you phillips family!
We are still pryaing for you three. I know the set backs are hard, but I could sense a calmness in your email and I know God is working for you three in so many directions. I pray that all the tests come back normal. I pray for improvement instead of set backs this week. He is a miracle, not only in himself but for others to see.
Take care and we will talk to you soon.
Hang in there guys!
We are all CONSTANTLY praying!
Ya'll are such an inspiration to Scott & I! I can only imagine how difficult all these "set backs" must be...but just think of what all he has overcome!!! What a MIRACLE!
