CDR Women's Retreat

The last weekend in March we had the first Camp Deer Run Alumni retreat
It was so great!

Not sure where Mo was when we took this, but here are the Spencer girls minus Mo :(

Jodi, Rachel, Lindsay, Me.....MANY MANY CDR Memories with this bunch

The day we left, Avery drove me to my cabin to get my stuff out. I've gotten much lazier since I was working at camp!!!
Those pictures were kinda out of order, but I can't fix them...oh well.

The retreat was so great and a time of all of the great things about camp. We pretty much did a regular camp schedule mixed in with LOTS of talking, catching up, laughing at old times, maybe a few tears (of joy), devotionals, quiet time, singing, it was great.....

We started off Friday night with some silly games. We all got reminded REAL QUICKLY how silly you look doing "camp stuff", but we all did it so we were all embarrassed together!

and LAUGHED a lot!!! My face was already hurting from laughing 10 min. after the retreat started.

night devo

yummy snacks after night devo....never got to do this during real camp

flag devo...i posted this one just for Rachel....lookin good!

the morning cheer...."I feel healthy......"

canteen after a grueling group activity Amazing Race!

The dogwoods were in full, beautiful, amazing, perfect bloom!

My mom and Mrs. Linda were the most "mature" alum there. My 2 Aunts Mary Lynn and Nancye came too to represent. I was SOOOO glad they came. We are hoping more people they worked with will come back next year. It hasn't been THAT long!!!

Aunt Nancye hugging the birthday boy. I made Kory come out Saturday afternoon because it was Kanyon's birthday and I HAD to see him.

All he wanted to do was play basketball. Shocker.

me and Aunt Nancye convincing q to walk.

We did some great tie dying!!

Janelle, Terri, Mallory, Jodi before we all left Sunday. Boo hoo!

Here is the finished product of our tie dye. You have to let it set for 24 hrs then wash them, so we didn't get to see everyone else's. The top 2 are mine, the middle left is my mom's, middle right is my aunt Mary Lynn's and the bottom is my aunt Nancye! It was so fun. Its pretty addictive. I just keep wanting to make more and more things!

We made our own pizzas for supper..that was really fun!

I love this pic of Q

Singing Happy Birthday to Kanyon

Clay and Adam dared to come along so that their wives could come. They are both still nursing babies so we were so glad the husbands took one for the team! It was funny how little we saw them, but they were busy playing all day!

Landry hid in the tshirt box!

Saturday night devo

This is such a "camp" picture. Everyone walking back from night devo.

It was such a great weekend in the greatest place in the whole world with some of the greatest people in the whole world. If you're reading this and you didn't come....DON'T MISS IT NEXT YEAR!

Cousins Cousins Cousins

Every year my family goes to the High School State Basketball Tournament in Austin. The last time I went was when I was pregnant with Kanyon and Jayde.....that was the last time any of the moms went! :) So, since all of our husbands are gone we figure we'd rather all be together in chaos than alone. This year Rachel went to visit a friend, so Mo and her girls came to Longview. Doodle's house was Grand Central Station and she was a most gracious host! We think that this year was by far the least chaotic. Though we'd added 2 kids, it just seemed like the older ones played so good. There were only a couple of times that we felt outnumbered. We had a great weekend and even got most of the kids down for a nap one day and hired some babysitters so the 3 of us could go to Target together. What a treat!!

The big kids sitting down for supper together

Avery kissing Quinn and Caden in the wagon. The weather was PEEERRRRRFECT all weekend.

Avery still likes to think "Baby Quim" is a baby, but he's quickly gaining size on her. It won't be long til she's sitting in his lap!

We ended each night with Popcorn and a Movie

Q was a popcorn thief!!!

see just as klp turns his head, q goes in for the steal!

I had already thought we'd get klp a goal for his birthday, but this weekend sealed the deal. it is ALL he wanted to do!!!

q loves chairs. He will climb up in chairs and sit like a grown up. They seem kinda boring to me, but I guess not to him. If we ever wondered where he was during the weekend, we could usually find him in this chair:

Not sure whose bowl of popcorn this WAS

Maybe it was klp's

It was so fun to be able to let them play outside all weekend. I'm sure thats what kept the insanity at manageable levels.

The swing set was a hit...especially with klp. Look here he is soaking in the awesomeness of swinging!!

Here's the gang minus Tate and Mallory...the littlest ones.

sweet q baby

sweet kan man

Enough swing pictures already!!! I like q in this one. He looks so big sitting up like that.

It was a great weekend!!!

Brothers and The Red Box

This picture cracked me up. They both have kinda goofy looks on their faces.

I think KLP took these while I was gone one day....klp holding remote control, q holding ball. That's par for both of them.

klp seemed to be disgusted with his baby brother.

Here is my pool shark playing at my Aunt and Uncle's house (where he also dominated in Ping Pong as you saw in the videos I posted a couple of days ago). He LOVES rolling the balls into each other. He also yells a lot during the fun.....he just gets carried away!!

Don't know if you can see, but he gets an under bite when he's really concentrating. Its pretty cute.

Here's the Red Box. It holds toys, but this night it held boys. This was a Daddy idea of course (aren't all the good ones from Daddy). The boys had so much fun and got really wound up (and it was bed time...oh well!).

He was mid sentence...probably saying "I OOOO GOOOO!' aka: I want to go!

Here's a little footage of the fun. Q went first....while klp "patiently" waited

Hopefully you can hear the giggles over the loud wheels rolling over the tile

It's not a big box so it was a pretty tight squeeze to get them both in there. It wasn't worth it to q. He wanted out.
