Great Friends and a Great Garage Sale

This picture has nothing to do with friends or our garage sale, but it sure is cute!

Great bunch of kiddos having dinner together (someone was giving me rabbit ears so they would laugh...instead they all gave rabbit ears to each other!) Mabry, Quinn, Chandler, Kanyon, Allie, and Addison

Another day.....another picture of the mess.  Oh well.

For the past 5 years or so, Me, Amy, and Mindi have had a big garage sale at least once a year.  We have THE BEST time.  It usually involves a slumber party, Blizzards from DQ, late night pricing, wheelin' and dealin', and the greatly anticipated adding up of the cash!! This year we decided to go for a Friday and Saturday sale. Too bad a MONSOON came on Friday. We had a few hours in the morning of slow shopping, but the rain kept most people away. Then the rain started blowing sideways so we called it quits and closed the garage door.  The next day was beautiful and we had a great day!

One of our friends was gonna sell this Michael Jordan card board poster thing.  Then Q saw it and it stayed in his lap just like this.

This was the night before as we were trying to just get it all semi-organized and back in the garage before the rain hit.

This was the best we could do that night.  We had my porch completely full of rubbermaid tubs of stuff.  We sold So. Much. Stuff.

My favorite Garage Sale Gals!!!!

The Magna Doodle was the hit of the day. It was supposed to be being sold, but we ended up using it to total up who's stuff was who's out of each buyer's pile. It worked great.

klp took his turn with the magna doodle too!

Back to FRIENDS:

Meg and Jaylie begging Rebekah for something.

Meg and Jaylie again one Sunday when they kinda matched.

Then below that is Jaylie, Meg, and Beau.  We thought they coordinated nicely for church so we snapped a picture. I could just EAT THEM UP!  BFF's

Headband probz

Q found some tent stakes and turned them in to weapons....of course.  Caden and Tate are lookin' so sweet here.  While my ferocious child won't smile.  He was "in character" with his weapons.

This cracked me up. I came in the living room after the kids were in bed and this is what I saw. klp had a few of his guys lined up following Jake I guess.  I just love seeing things they've played with.

Kanyon and Kandy

I've posted pictures before of Kanyon riding his horse for hippotherapy.  We continue to ride every Friday and it is one of the highlights of our week. At the end of the Summer session, they had a photographer come out and take pictures of each kid with their horse.  So here are some professional shots of Kanyon and Kandy.

Kanyon giving Kandy a kiss.

These are not professional, but on of the therapists took them while he was riding a couple of weeks ago.  As you can see, klp is pretty happy up on his horse.

jjp borrowed brother's hat while he rode.

When he's done riding, he gets to lead Kandy back to the gate.

We LOVE hippotherapy!

Jaylie June

This girl's personality has exploded the last couple of months.  For better or worse.  I'm not sure if its because she's a girl, or if its just her personality....probably both, but this girl is hilarious.  Her personality is so different from her brothers.  I'm not real sure how to describe it, but maybe overall she is just so IN TUNE to the world around her. In some ways she's pretty content, but she's much more of a go-getter than her brothers were at this age.  Several months ago when she had probably only worn shoes 3 times in her whole life (we're up to at least 5 or 6 times now) she brought me some tiny shoes and started trying to put them on her feet.  She found a cup, went in to the bathroom and held it under the faucet at the bathtub and pointed/grunted at the faucet.  The girl knows what she wants and she's gonna figure out a way to tell us.  Unfortunately, she throws serious fits. Wowzers.  Tryin' to nip that in the bud.  Wish me luck. As soon as she could interact, she was a performer.  She knows when she's being silly and hams it up!  In fact I'm pretty sure she said her first word the other day and it was "TA-DA!!!" She was playing with a tractor the other day and she was making a pretty good tractor noise! I find myself saying "I didn't know she knew that!" all the time lately.  These fun little things are popping up everyday and I get a pretty big kick out of it.  She can hang with the big dogs when it comes to playing with her brothers.  As if we didn't have enough spunk in this family, The Jaylie Monster (as she's called by her brothers) showed up and brought spunk to a whole new level!

Here's a few pics of the wild child over the last few weeks.

She used to squint her nose up likes this ALL THE TIME.  It was her way of being silly or showing off.  She's kinda stopped doing it now which is kinda sad.

Before her yogurt, she dined on a turquoise marker for breakfast.

She prefers to hold the shopping list. Keeping me on task. She's an intense shopper as you can see.

On a walk she fell asleep just as she was going in for one more fist full of goldfish.

Sometimes you just can't stay awake another second.

My friend Amanda made this dress for her out of one of my shirts.  Its kinda pearl snappy and so cute!

I mean seriously. She's posing!!

She loves the remote controls.  I'm sure here she's making a case for why I need to let her keep the remote.

Chattin' it up. (so what if there's still pictures of baby Quinn up in Jaylie's nursery???!!)

This is how she sits and its so cute.  One day she was trying to get me to put some shoes on but she couldn't find her feet sitting like that.  She kept putting the shoe on the end of her knee. She knew it wasn't right, but she couldn't figure out where in the world her feet went!

So maybe "lady-like" isn't a word I would use to describe her.

Sugar and Spice?  Well.......maybe its spice and more spice with this one!

September Happenings

We took the boys to the movies for the first time.  They both did really well. I was pleasantly surprised. I was worried it would be too loud for Q and that klp wouldn't be able to see it.  (I realize that sounds crazy since its a huge screen, but his vision/processing is kinda tricky.

Q's Poker {Old Maid} face

Q found a whistle and had a blast with it for several days.  He eventually lost it.  One of us cried about it.  It wasn't me.

We went to a football game to watch some youth group kids do their thing...

\

One of "our girls" was on homecoming court and the other is drum major.

They somehow fit into these boxes.

We were eating at a pizza place that had games and this was klp playing the hunting game. That boy figured out how to pull himself up and hold on with the joy stick so he could shoot the gun.  I love that he just does his thing no matter what it takes.

We got him a chair and it was much easier on him.

School started, but the summer temps didn't go away so we kept doing summer stuff!

klp locked himself in my bedroom.  Seriously. And its not one of those doorknobs you can pick.  This was only a few weeks after he got stuck on our laundry area of our house when the sliding door got jammed.  Q was trying with all his might to get him out.....Luckily we got him out before I had to take off the doorknob.

Jaylie June, Beau, and Meg all fell asleep while Mommies (and Quinn) walked.  Don't think thats happened again.

Y'all sometimes my house is such a mess in the middle of the day that I have to take a picture.  I never feel like the picture does justice to the insane mess 3 kids make.

klp built a library for Cubby.

Since school started, klp is officially done with naps.  I enjoy our afternoons together.  Especially when I get some help in the kitchen.

Caught them all 3 playing together.  Glad I got this because its a rare (and short lived) moment.

Reading an Olivia book under our quilt Aunt Sydni made for Jayde.  This pic is deceiving.  Don't let Juney girl's look of interest and cooperation fool you.  She was just preparing to pounce on the book and ruin story time.  She doesn't get invited to group readings very often.

Why are sleeping kids the cutest things in the world?  Cuteness multiplied by the cap on his head and the cheese stick in his hand....don't judge, I gotta get some pounds on this skinny kid.

Our fireplace is where they do most of their playing.  Lots of mornings they'll wake up and go straight to the fireplace to play so I wake up to the sound of imaginations running wild (which is cuter than screaming kids or cranky wake up calls begging for breakfast).

One of these days there will be pictures of Q that don't show his crack, but not yet.
