Flashback

This first picture is not the flashback, but I thought it was funny. When I layed Kanyon down, his face was on the white burp rag at the top of the blanket. I looked over a little later and this is where he was. He's a little wiggle worm. When he squirms like that he works so hard. He makes the cutest little squeaks and grunts. Actually I took a video of him playing on the floor but I don't know how to post in on blogger. Any hints?
Here is the flashback. Kinda gives me the chills. I forget how tiny he was.

5 months!

Kanyon is 5 months old today! And for the first time, he is spending his "birthday" at home..not some silly hospital!!! YIPEEE!!! One of these days I'll quit posting all of the basketball pictures, but once again, here we are from the very beginning.

Almost one month
2 months
3 months
4 months
5 months

We had a Dr. appointment Thursday, so since we were so close, we stuck our heads in the NICU to say hello. It was so fun for us to see each other. Even though Kanyon didn't open his eyes, I know he was happy to "see" them. Here he is with Tracey and Jim. We'll have to make another trip up there sometime soon to see the night shift.
People are always asking how much Kanyon weighs and I really don't know. So my dad, being the expert angler that he is, got out his fish scales! weighing in at...............................
10 pounds!!!!! A nice catch for any fisherman!
Its kinda funny...Kanyon's whole life my dad has compared him to a fish. Pretty soon he'll be bigger than any bass around.

Too many pictures of nothing big

There are once again a ton of pictures on this post. I just have a hard time narrowing them down.

My brother Clint had a meeting in town Sunday, so he came by to see Kanyon and celebrate Kory's birthday with us. Kanyon was very happy to see his uncle Clint, but was dealing with a tummy ache. He was fussy until he found just the right position in Clint's arms. Believe it or not, this was it:
Yes, he could somehow breathe. There's proof right there that those lungs are stronger. A month ago he could've never handled that angle!

Clint brought Kory a funny birthday card, I got him a belt and a shirt, and this is what Kanyon gave him:
Auntie Tam gave Kanyon this outfit. The shorts cracked me up
This picture makes me laugh out loud...Looks like he's mad at a fly on his nose!
He found the TV
Another funny one to me. Just chillin' in the chair with my mom I took this picture the other night at like 3am. I layed him on his tummy on the couch beside me so I could pump. The angle I see him at shows nothing but lips. So, here is his chubby cheeked fish face! (And his freaky habit of sleeping with his eyes open)
This is Kanyon's physical therapist. She is really good and says Kanyon is doing really well. He usually cries through the whole thing, but he works so hard. Poor little guy. Right now we're working on holding our head up and rolling over.

Our dear friends Scott and Paula gave Kanyon this shirt. He had a couple of hamster days (sleeps all day, up all night..you know, like a hamster). Unfortunately, Mommy is not nocturnal, so it wasn't near as fun for her. But after one of our long nights, I had to put him in the shirt because it was so true. I can't complain, he doesn't do the hamster thing too much.

Sweet Pictures

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Doodle came to visit. She has a REAL camera, so we had an impromptu photo shoot. Kanyon slept through it, but that's OK. I don't think he cares that he missed it. I can't post all of the pictures--I think Doodle took well over 100-- so here is a little sample.

Nursery Tour

I said a long time ago that I would post pictures of the nursery once I got it finished. Well, 4 1/2 months after I had my babies, I'm done...kinda. I still have a few more things to do, but this will work for now. So, I will take you on a virtual tour. Don't get too excited, I'm not an interior decorator.

A shout out goes to the one and only Mary Beard Thompson for doing all of my bedding and window treatments. She is AMAZING and was so cute and smart picking all of this out. I could have never come up with this. She made it so great...coordinating, yet different.

Here is the door...duh...sorry I just felt like I had to put a caption.
I LOVE my window treatments! (Polka dots from the bedding)
Great shelf made by my uncle Steve (I left room for fun things I know we'll acquire as we grow). Me and my teacher self had to get those so fun books in there ASAP! This dresser was a NIGHTMARE! My awesome Sis in laws and mom helped me paint it the first time (notice all of the trim and straight lines). Then it started to all peel off because the paint people gave me the wrong paint!!!! SOOO my great friends Jill and Amy saved me and helped me STRIP this stupid thing and then prime it and repaint it. UGGHH! YEAH! BEDS! Hopefully you can click on these pics and see them up close so you can see all the fun fabrics (thanks Mary). The stripe you see on Jayde's bed is also on Kanyons bumpers and a tiny bit on his bed skirt...see, she ties it all together!

A shot from the door, mostly I wanted to get the rug in there.
I already had the beds up and done when the babies were born. I wasn't and am still not ready to take her bed down yet. The room was pretty unisex since a boy and girl were sharing it, but I had to make a few adjustments to make sure it was manly enough for Kanyon. That is where the dark chocolate brown and iron cowboy stuff came in. Like I said, I'm not an interior decorator, but I mean really...like Kanyon cares!

CHIEF and GRAM CAME TO TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!

We have just had the BEST few days. Kory's parents came down to visit us. We had so much fun having them here and Kanyon LOVED it. He got lots of great cuddle time. Wes had not seen Kanyon since they were born and he said that last time he saw Kanyon, he could spread his hand out over him and Kanyon was from his pinky to his thumb. So, needless to say, Wes was impressed with his size! Susan hadn't seen him since he was about 3 lbs. It was fun to see them see him again.

Chief giving him his bottle....Gram "supervising"

For those of you who don't know, Kory's family runs a cattle ranch called the Bar Diamond Ranch. So, we had an outfit made that has the ranch's bar diamond brand on his little hiney. I think Wes was kinda proud of the Bar Diamond's 6th generation.

The boys worked on the car...

switched places and KEPT working on the car
Meanwhile, Gram had a little cuddle bug.
We played lots of Wa-hoo and Kanyon only ruined one game crying. He just wasn't having it. Maybe me and Wes could blame him for us getting beat over and over by Kory and Susan.

Gram and Kanyon This was at about 3am. the night they got in. Me and Kanyon were still up (thanks a lot Kan-man) and Wes and Susan got there about that time, so they helped feed him.

Kanyon helping Chief do Sudoku...he's soooo smart.
Awww....I LOVE this picture!!
Chief's hands holding Kanyon. Remember...Kanyon was only from pinky to thumb not too long ago.
