Evening update

I just talked to Kory, and Kanyon is still doing great. They say he's pretty much on cruise control right now. The doctor took a couple of lines out of his IV today, which he wouldn't do unless he was very comfortable with his status. He is still digesting well, but keep praying about that. Kory said they are going to run several tests on Monday, so we can start praying for that also. He also told me that they walked down to the NICU one time today, and they looked in the window to see the nurse on duty just relaxing with her feet up. She apologized when she saw them, but Kory said it was so great to see that she was able to be so relaxed. That hasn't been the case before now, so that's a good sign.
-
I realized that I was wrong when I reported this morning that Jaymie is going home. She was discharged today, but they aren't actually going home. The hospital is letting them keep their room for a very small daily fee as long as someone else doesn't need it. So they can come and go as they please and even stay there at night, which is such a blessing.

I have a trivial request - when you leave your comments, try to leave them on the most recent post, even if you are not responding specifically to that post. That will make it easier for us to just print the new comments from the latest posts to take to Jaymie and Kory. If you comment on an old post that has already been printed, they will probably read it eventually, but it may be missed for right now. Thanks!

Jaymie, Kory, Kanyon, Gay and Jay...
Even though I talk to you often, I figured I can never let you know enough how much I love all of you.
My heart is breaking for your sadness and yet rejoicing for those small miracles we are seeing in Kanyon every day.
Jaymie, you are such an inspiration to me. I've found strength and faith in your trust in God.. Kory, you are such a Godly man. There's no one else I'd rather call family.
Jay and Gay..just know I'm praying for you. I can't even think of you without crying. My love for you both runs deeper than you'll ever know.
May God continue to wrap his arms around you in the days to come. I'll be on my knees every day and night praying for you.
I love you so much,
Jules

Jaymie and Kory,

I want you to know that you will be in our hearts on Sunday as you have been all week. I so wish I could carry your burden for just a moment but then I realize that someone greater than we can imagine has already taken care of that. Thanks be to God for the strength that Kanyon continues to gain. May God's grace and peace be with you as you grieve the loss of sweet little Jayde. She has made an impact on so many lives. Much love to you all.

I pray this verse will give you some form of comfort. It has gotten me through some pretty tough times. K.T.

I was told about your blog by my sister-in-law (an ACU alumni.) My daughter was born @ 25 wks and 6 days. She weighed 1 lb. 6.7 oz. and was 12 in. long. We had many, many ups and downs during her 14 week stay in the hospital. Now she is a healthy and smart 2 1/2 year old.

If you want to talk to me, send me an e-mail (abfox@bellsouth.net). I know some of what you are going through but I can't imagine all of it.

Sincerly,

God is so good.
As I fight back tears trying to think of what to say, all that I can think of is...God is so good. He is faithful and gracious.

My prayer is that His peace, which you cannot explain, will completely overwhelm you both.

Know that your lives and Kanyon and Jayde's lives are a reflection of the only Chirst some of the nurses, staff, doctors, other parents and anyone else you meet may see. I pray that they ask, "Why, how, what then does this mean for my life?" when they see your faithfullness. You are lifted up in the Stites' house all day and all night.

Good morning from AZ. One of the first things I do every morning is look at your blog to get updates on Kanyon and all of you. I am so glad that you can stay at the hospital with Kanyon. I can't imagine what it would be like to not be able to see him when-ever you want to. Gaining weight and tubes removed....Woo-Hoo. I am so thankful to God for that. Please know that I continue to pray for all of you daily and am confident that God is in control of this whole situation. May He grant you comfort and strength in a special messure, especially tomorrow.

Love, in Christ, Elaine Folding
