Mom brought Kanyon a bowling set and it has been THE thing....down our hallway, on the front porch, wherever Kanyon is the bowling set is there too!
The kids and I went with Kory one Saturday to do a few things around the ranch. Spring just so happens to be the perfect time to shoot those pesky gophers....
Meanwhile in the back seat, NO KIDS are respecting personal space boundaries. At least it's each other's space they're bombarding and not mine.
Cutie girl on the hay bales.
Toothless Quinn nailed his target with his sling shot and he was sooooo excited!
Dad helping Kan shoot his sling shot.
That day me and Kory could NOT hit a gopher to save our lives. Quinn was (and always is) the master spotter. He can see those things from a mile away so he would spot them and then one of us would shoot them out the window of the front seat. We kept missing!! All afternoon Quinn was saying, "Just let me try! I KNOW I can hit one!" We kept saying no because he's never shot a .22 and CLEARLY it was not properly sighted in because what other excuse is there for why me and Kory missed every single shot?!?! Plus he would be shooting form one of our laps out the car window and we thought we'd better let him shoot for the first time in more ideal circumstances. Like a sighted in rifle and a steady place to rest the gun. BUT finally as we are driving out I told him if we saw one on the way out he could have a turn to shoot it. As luck would have it, Eagle Eye himself spots a gopher off the road so he climbs in the passenger seat, sat in Kory's lap and NAILED IT! He was SO excited!!! "I TOLD YOU I could hit one MOM!" I stand corrected. It just so happened to be a gigantic gopher and we couldn't NOT take a picture with the boy's first kill.
Later that day he said "Mom, I pulled my front tooth last night and then I shot my first gopher today, it's like THE BEST day ever!"
Little sis refused to be left out so we took her picture too. When she saw this picture she said "MOM! We have to take another picture because I look BAD!" haha!
With all the fishing we do with Paw Paw, fishing stays on our minds for a while...Q drew this picture with the rainbow trout (complete with power bait in his stomach).
Sometimes homeschool looks all dreamy and fun and outdoorsy.
He just KNEW he could catch those baby fish.
Spring time is baseball time! Go Mets!
Quinn loves playing and we've had the sweetest friends to play with the last couple of years.
It comes as no surprise that big mouth Kan Man leads the cheer!
Our neighbors had BABY BUNNIES!!!!!!!!
After long months of winter, we get a little restless for spring and warm weather around here. This day it was MAYBE 60 degrees and these two just HAD to get the sprinkler out.
Juney and Jona are best of friends!
Kanyon had several appointments in Missoula which is about 4. 5 hours away so I decided to take Quinn too and make it a party. We got to stay in a hotel which pretty much equals Disney World so everyone was thrilled.
Wrestling and just spazzing out in general happened immediately upon entering the hotel room.
Kanyon is beginning to show interest in being a "big boy" and flexing his "oldest kid" muscles a little more. He gets independent streaks more often than ever before and its kind of fun to watch him show out a little. This day in Missoula it came in the form of pushing the cart at Target. He was on top of the world. (until he got tired and then he rode in the cart. Best of both worlds!)
Quinn is the family DJ so my old iPod is his dream come true. I put a bunch of his favorite songs on it and he's in heaven. On the drive he would give Kanyon one headphone and then pick all the songs. They had a blast together singing along.
The restaurant we were eating in accidentally made an extra Sundae full of oreos and gummy worms. It was Quinn's lucky day!
Meanwhile back at home, Jaylie and Jona are enjoying some of the first popsicles of the season!
Goodbye Winter...bring on Spring!!!!!!!
