Day 73

For today's update, all you have to do is look at the pictures:

Notice anything?

Something is missing, huh?

This one's a give-a-way! Now do you know?

NO OXYGEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep! That's right. Kanyon is using his big boy lungs now! YIPEE! They had him turned off all night last night and decided to go ahead and take out his cannula this morning. That little white tube is his feeding tube. He's done great all day. They have to give him a little help (with this thing they stick by his face) when he's eating, but other than that, the man is on his own! We hope this lasts, wouldn't that be great! He weighed 4.4 today, so we're gaining a little. He's kind of been a slow grower this week. Bottle feeding isn't fantastic, but he's getting practice 2 times a day. Hopefully that will click soon. We are headed back to the hospital now, but I wanted to post BEFORE midnight tonight. We love seeing that sweet face without tubes and tape!

Oh my goodness. One day that ring probably won't even fit on his finger and that will be a day of rejoicing like today is with no oxygen!!! Hallelujah!!! Sarah, Buddy and I loved looking at all the pictures tonight. Might not be long until this little man goes home.
Love you all!

Oh WOW! He looks sooooooo precious and so big. I know he is still tiny but he looks just like a newborn now and it looks like he is wanting to go home soon.
I'll bet it will be sooner than you think with Kanyon making such progress! I just love the pictures-those little fat jaws just look like they need squeezing!
Keep the pictures and all the good progress news coming. Get your rest, because soon you'll be needing your sleep.
Love, Raylene & Ronnie

I have to be honest... I saw that picture and out loud went "Holy crap!!" :) Seriously, that is just fantastic! He is almost tube-free! Thank y'all for sharing each of his precious milestones with us! Checking on your little man is my favorite part of the day! I guess I should say "parts" of the day since I seem to look again and again. Anyways, all that to say... YAY!! Love y'all!

Sweet Kanyon! Seeing his face tube free once again brings tears of joy! Your little man isn't the little man he once was! Praise God for all the wonderful things he is bringing and will continue to bring with Kanyon. Love you!

He is so CUTE!!! I know Roselyn has a boyfriend picked out for herself (fast family) so I'm wondering if we could get Kanyon and Kayden together before anyone else gets "dibs" on him. If not, let me down gently. She got her first haircut yesterday ... I'll send pics for him to look at if he wants to think it over.

Oh, Jaymie, these are the most precious of pictures. You certainly have yourself two handsome men because Kanyon looks just like his Daddy!! I am overjoyed with the success he is making and the peace it must bring to the two of you. May the blessings continue to overflow.

what exciting news. Its awesome to see all the tubes gone, such a big milestone to reach, and its just the beginning of many. I am so happy to hear about his progress and its wonderful to know we have such an awesome God, only He can take all the credit for this little miracle. Shea however is disappointed you wont be her teacher this next year :) but she understands how important it is that you stay home with your baby.
We cant wait to see you and meet your precioius one.

I can't stop looking at these pictures!!! He is sooo cute and I just want to kiss those little cheeks so bad! What a HUGE blessing from God Kanyon is. We are so happy to hear the progress he is making and to finally see his precious face without all those tubes. We're rootin' for you, Kanyon!

I hope it's okay to call a little boy beautiful. That was the first word that popped in my head. So precious! We can't wait to meet him in person!

Mary Nan and Laura said to pass on that they love him and that they will give him some gum when he's at least three, and that when he's able, they'd like y'all to bring him to our home so they can kiss him. I don't know if you should see those things as promises or threats. J.J. just stood here saying, "Kan-yon!" in a real gruff voice. Anyway, we are sure excited to see Mr. Kanyon pretty much tubeless and will keep on praying every day for him and y'all, too. We love y'all! Robyn
