There really aren't words to describe the scene when we are all together at my parents' house. Its a lot of things, but the truest thing it is is LOUD. There's a line in that Frozen Fever song that says, "There's a fine line between chaos and hullabaloo". We walk that fine line 24/7!!! Meal times are particularly crazy because we are to the point now where we just shove all the kids in the kitchen and the adults and high chair babies eat in the dining room and we just sort of hope for the best. Interruptions are constant and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little annoying, but it sure is good stuff.
Here's the "little girls" table. Marion is wearing one of the dress up dresses and a mask. Its the obvious choice for dinner attire.
Big kids!
Quinn is the sweetest little thing with Colbie. He has always been a sweet, nurturing kid. He loves babies more than the average little boy and he's just so sweet. He kisses Colbie every time he walks by her and always wants to hold her. I caught him mid-kiss as he ran by the high chair.
These 2 gals were attached at the hip the whole time. I loved it so much. They hardly ever fussed with each other and were together all day every day. It was so fun watching them play and talk and do their thing like there was no one else in the world. Here they are playing a game together.
I mean...really?!?!?! Heart melters, these two.
...Just talking to each other through a snorkel.
They call it a midnight mule ride and here's the whole gang headed out for the midnight mule ride!
This is hilarious. Ellie's face, Jaylie's hair, outfits, TOTAL ragamuffins.
Kan Man found a nice comfy spot for a nap. This is about the only way I can make Gay Gay slow down when we're all there.
Of course, we had to go to the Dentist while we were there. We were trying to get some work done on Kanyon, but he was pretty hesitant so we decided to wait and try again later or with a different dentist. The whole thing is pretty offensive to Kanyon with his history of oral aversions and such so my dad and Clint decided they didn't want to be the bad guy and ruin the fun of their office. I totally dread dealing with all of this, but maybe it'll all just go away. Thats realistic, right?
Mustaches from the prize drawer!
2 buddies brushing their teeth.
Aunt Nancye came to visit!!! We always love seeing her, and she always brings yummy cookies, so we decided she needed to be called "Aunt Cookie". I think it works!
Paw Paw teaching Quinn how to clean the fish they caught.
They got their fingernails painted and this is how they posed when I asked them to show me their fingernails. HAHA! Ellie looks so terribly sad, and Jaylie looks like a kangaroo.
They couldn't even stand to be separated for nap time, so with a little help from Uncle Clay, they had a nice cozy nap together.
The best part about napping together is that you can start wrestling as soon as you wake up!
Matching booties.
My mom made this dress for me when I was little, so we wanted a picture of J wearing it. She was NOT cooperating.
We threatened her and she did much better....
I always joke that I need to do a weigh-in when I get home and then weigh myself again when I leave because there is no doubt I gain at least 10 pounds. Mom's famous malts are to blame for at least 5 lbs. of that! Thank you and Amen.
