"Look what I found!"

Kanyon has found his hands! When he gets hungry, it doesn't take long for his hands to work their way into his mouth. I will hear a sweet little smacking sound and know he's ready to eat. He started this last week and this week he will smack on whatever is near his mouth. His shirt, my hair, my neck, my shirt, or my personal favorite-his bottom lip.
(these pictures were taken after his surgery so he still has one of his bandages on his tummy and a little bruise on his chest where the tube is)

This was cute because he's looking up at Kory.

I think he's part tree frog. This picture doesn't show it that well, but he'll lay with his legs and arms sprawled out clinging to whoever is holding him. I"ll have to catch a better shot of this one.

Yesterday I went to the Women's Center to check on how he's nursing and measure how much he's eating. He weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz.!!!! HOLY COW! I made the nurse re-do it because I didn't think that was possible. That was with a diaper on, but STILL! No wonder his clothes are starting to get a little tight. The nurse that helped me was one of our nurses in the hospital so it was so fun to see her. She couldn't believe how big Kanyon was (and how loud he can cry!). Kanyon was happy to see her and to hear "a familiar voice".

Just wanted to give you some words of encouragement. I am a friend of Shara's and I have followed your blog since your babies were born and lifted you up in prayers. My heart has hurt for you guys. Our oldest son who is 24 now has had his shunt since he was 6 months old. I'd love to share stories with you sometime. God has big plans for Kanyon!! Shara has my contacts if you'd like to visit sometime. I'm so proud you guys are home and will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Wow! I just looooooove that little tree frog! :) He gets more handsome everyday.... And over eight and a half pounds! Amazing! Isn't it just so fun watching them discover new things?!? Funny that there was a time when you had to "discover" your hands! It's only the beginning! :) Give him kisses from me! Love you guys!

it is sooooo goooood to see Kanyon growing and doing all the things babies do! I took so many things for granted, and even became weary at times trying to get through it all and be "the best and perfect" mom and child. you have the right attitide and know that every day is truely a gift from God.... don't forget that when things get tough... you and Kory are great parents and great people.... can't wait to meet Kanyon.... we love you

Yee-Haw for Kanyon! We drove across and through Montana the last few days, and thought about you guys - and took time to imagine Kanyon someday enjoying the vast, beautiful land. Now, at over 8 pounds, he is well on his way! We are blogging our trip to Alaska at www.4moosenuggets.blogspot.com
We hope to meet Kanyon at Christmas when we get to come home! Love you guys.

Hi! You don't actually know me but I have been reading your blog for quite some time now. Even more odd is that we just moved to Longview and just joined Alpine. I didn't realize ya'll were members there until we received the picture directory today. I look forward to meeting you guys and cute little Kanyon!
