Girls Trip Comes to Montana!

Every year since we graduated from college, a group of my girlfriends gets together for a fun weekend. Girls Trip, we call it.  For at least 10 years it was always MLK weekend since it was a holiday off school, etc. Over the years the weekend has changed a bit but the gang still gets together.  Since my move to Montana, I've missed all of them, but we've been planning for 2 years for Montana girls trip! We missed the rest of the group that couldn't come, but Mindi, Mary, Kami, and Kayci made the trek and we had such a great weekend.  The week before the trip, Kayci broke her collar bone, the day before the trip, Mindi's son Trent broke his arm and had to have surgery but WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED!!  Kayci was a total trooper powering through her pain and Mindi was a day late, but everyone made it and all was well.

Me and Juney picked these 3 up at the airport and hit Sonic just like the Abilene days!

The first night we were missing Mindi for dinner....

We tried our best not to have any fun until Mindi got there.  Once she did we unleashed the fun and never stopped.  Tye shot an elk so we got to give the girls a little Montana flavor right off the bat.

We went out to the ranch and had a little fun on the hay bales and such.

Me and Mindi had a little race.  Nukka the dog smoked us both.

Mary had to leave earlier than the rest of the gang, so we were sad to see her go but it was sooooo great being ALL together.

We went up to our summer pasture to see the cows one day and ended up having to get a pair back in the gate.  So Mindi and Kami were officially christened Montana Ranchers.

Kayci and here broken collar bone took pictures (and probably giggled) from the car.

Moo.

Mindi at the top taking selfies....

Us shoving Jaylie through some hole up to Mindi.

Meanwhile Q is climbing up the log cabin....

and J is checking out the inside.

These 3 spent an afternoon with Dad so us gals could do a little shopping...I'm pretty proud of this little crew.

Working HARD to blow that balloon up!

This weekend, Jaylie's dear companion "Balloony" the water balloon was "born" with a little help from Kami (who filled the balloon up with water for Jalyie).  Jaylie carried that balloon around forever.  Since I'm writing this blog so much later, I can write that Balloony stayed alive and active until mid March!!!!!  But this is where it all began.

This also happened and I felt like I couldn't NOT take a picture.  This was a person on a 4 wheeler at the stop sign by our house.  There's a kid on the front making traffic signals for a left turn.  Rural America is a great place.

Church girls!!!

Kan Man found a great spot between Mindi and Kami during church.

Dipping our feet in Spring Creek...

A little group workout with Kayci and her collar bone monitoring. (Can we all die at the cuteness that is Kanyon planking.)

Juney and Mindi after a good workout!

Having a good ol' tourist moment with the Welcome to Lewiston sign....in our matching sweatshirts.  And yes, I got us all matching Montana sweatshirts! Thanks to our friend Amanda, we had custom sweatshirts with a heart right over Lewistown! Its not every day girls trip comes to Montana so it couldn't pass by without merch.

One day Mindi was fixing her curly hair, so she did Jaylie's just like hers.  Since that day, Jaylie is the curly hair expert and loves to "make her hair curly like Mrs. Mindi".

Curly haired twinkies!
......and Balloony of course.

An Amish sighting just outside of town.

Balloons needed a bath, duh.

Juney and Kami after another good workout!

Life has taken this crew in so many different directions and having the chance to sit down and catch up on LIFE and all of the things, big and small, that have been going on was SUCH A GIFT.  College friends are unlike any other friends in the world.  These people were your family, your 24 hours a day people, and we saw each other through some pretty huge things during those 4 years and even more things in the almost 15 years since then. I am so thankful for these girls and I'll never get over how grateful I am to them for all of the time, money, coordination of families and jobs, and everything else that it took for them to get here.  It. Was. Perfect! Long Live Girls Trip!
