Puff Daddy

Before I get to Puff Daddy, I'll catch you up on a few pictures from last week.

Kanyon LOVES to bite Kory's fingers! As soon as it is in his mouth he squeals and pulls his legs up and is just so happy!

A few little close-ups. I love his little mouth in these pictures.
That sweet little crossed eye is a little less crossed today. :)
A nice shot of his teeth (the total is now up to 6...2 bottom, 4 top). Unfortunately it is a nice shot of his boogers too. Sorry.
This pic cracks me up. He had just woken up and I put him in the chair until I got his bottle ready. My little sleepy head.
Here we are playing while we wait for the Practitioner for Pre-Op on Monday.
They put him in a little gown for surgery. I felt bad that he was so happy and cheery...no idea what was about to happen to him. I guess that's good, I just felt guilty.
Can you tell he was hungry, couldn't eat past midnight.

Back at Aunt Nancye's, we did a lot of cuddling...poor baby. Watching him wake up and be so uncomfortable was so hard. I hated it. I know there are people who have been through this more than us and worse surgeries than us, but no matter what, it is hard to watch your baby hurt.
Here is our little Puff Daddy. The inside corners of his eyes are totally red and he was pretty puffy all over. He had a little blood draining, but that has stopped. He looks much better today.

They told me that when he would try to open his eyes it would feel like they were full of sand. Yuck.

Despite the discomfort, he had a few smiles for his Great Aunt Nancye who took very good care of us.

Here he is today on the way back to Longview. You can see that his eyes are still puffy, but not near as bad. I took this because he decided to suck on his thummy sideways. Whatever P-Diddy.
I just took this about 1 minute ago. His cute little hiney was high in the air.
Thank you again for your prayers yesterday. I am just so relieved that it is over. We can already see improvement in his eyes and we're praying that they will be nice and straight and that this will help him with his overall visual development.

Glad to hear that the surgery went well. I wanted to post his sooner, but haven't gotten the chance. The same day that you posted your "this time last year" post, Jessica came to me and asked me if I thought you were sad right now. She thought you would be sad now because she knew it was close to Kanyon and Jayde's first birthday. I told her that you were probably a little sad, but that you were also so happy to be celebrating Kanyon's 1st birthday. I also read your blog to her. Even though she is just 8 years old, she is pretty smart. She told me that you are one of her heroes, and that she wanted to be just like you when she grows up... a great teacher and a great mom!! You will always have a special place in her heart. She misses you a lot. Take care and we will continue to pray for you and your whole family.

Hi Jaymie,
You may not remember us, but our twins were in the NICU with Kanyon...Ryan and Cade Simpkins. Ryan and Kanyon actually had beds right next to each other for about two weeks. I just read your blog and wanted to let you know that I am so glad that Kanyon and your family are doing so well. Take care!

Yea, Kanyon!!! Lots of folks at RHCC were lifting you up in prayer through your surgery! You look great! And I love how you hold your straps in your carseat - reminds me of a little boy I drove around 22 years ago!!!
Hugs to all!

Jaymie, Kory, & Kanyon,
Hey you guys! I'm so glad and relieved that the surgery went well. Our Sunday School class has been praying for yall, and yall were on my mind all day Tuesday. I just got caught up on your last 3 blogs, sorry....somedays between the 3 kids & my absent mind I just know where the day has gone! You're blog from March 7 "this time last year" had me in tears. Don't feel bad or weird or anything for writing out your thoughts, even your sad ones. It's crazy uh to go from absolute bliss to absolute terror & despair in the blink of an eye. Your dreams there safely in your womb, protected by you, or atleast you thought, to a frenzy birth and a much to sudden goodbye. I to still look at Claire & Case's sono pics and videotapes of the sonos....moments that are frozen in time to me and to you also. Just to see his heart beating again and life inside him is more than words can explain. I want yall to know that I am praying for yall and thinking of yall immensely during this upcoming birthday of your twins and anniversary of Jayde's death. As I was reading in my Life Application Bible tonight it reminds us: When someone close to us dies, we need a long period of time to work through our grief. Crying and sharing our feelings with others helps us recover and go on with life. Jaymie & Kory, I know we will never "get over" the death of our children, I like to think of it as simply getting through it. Somedays it feels like trudging through thick quicksand and other days are like....well, almost normal again. May God continue to bless you.

I'm so glad that all the prayers were answered and that the surgery went well.

Looks like recovery is going well. I hope and pray that this is the last of your surgeries for a long time.

Glad the surgery went well. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to watch your baby go through surgery, but I know you guys are strong and are doing everything you can for your sweet little boy. He is so precious, I love the close-ups of his face!

I started a blog thinking I could update family with pictures of our house and now I keep forgetting to upload them! We need to come down there soon and meet Kanyon! Happy Easter! (Todd says hi)

i think puff daddy is a good name... maybe coop's nick name for now could be poop daddy! he saves up for a once a week "extra grande platter". usually on sunday after noons. interesting. k-luke looked good today. him and coop have already begun trying to sit on the back row during church. kory, we'll have to put the talk to our boys about that on.
no words of wisdom here, just want to remind you that even though not many of us have gone what you've gone through and don't even understand how to grieve with you... just want ya'll to know that you are not alone. the Comfortor has been with you, and in some times used people around you (and by the look of blog, people from all over the world). i think you know that, just don't let satan get you down and distract you from that awesome truth.
