Kanyon is still doing well

Kanyon is still holding steady - thanks for all your continued prayers for him.
-
Jaymie and Kory traveled to Paris today for the memorial service, and of course it was very difficult, but it was also beautiful. Both of them mentioned how it really gave them a lot of peace and comfort, more than they expected. During the service, I believe it was Kory's brother Clint that read 1 Thessalonians 4:13, which talks about how we should not grieve like men who have no hope. Clint mentioned that Kory and Jaymie do not grieve like people who have no hope, but like people who still have work to do, and I completely agree with him. Of course they are grieving, but they are so strong and faithful and they know they must continue to stay strong for little Kanyon. It is so hard to watch them go through this, but they have been such an example to me and to others of how a Christian should handle difficult times like this. On a side note, thanks to all of you that have shared scriptures in your comments - we read many of them during the service today.

Please continue to pray for Kanyon. If you would like to sign up for a specific time, please visit the prayer chain website. http://www.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=kanyonandjayde There are lots of times available in the coming week. Also pray for Kory's family as most of them are traveling back to Montana tomorrow.

You don't know me but I wanted you to know that we are praying for you tonight in Plano, TX. My husband and I are members at Prestoncrest Church of Christ where your names were in our bulletin this morning - but I first read about you on a friend's blog a few days ago. We are praying for your stamina during this unbelievably trying time. Please remember that more people are praying for you (as evidenced by the many comments on this blog)than you can even imagine. When our son was in the NICU (2 years ago this Wednesday), the continual outpouring of love from our Christian brothers and sisters was so comforting and overwhelming - it really helped us through. Praying for God's peace to surround you each day - God bless you -- Robin and Richard England

Kory, Jaymie, & Kanyon,

We are still praying for y'all everyday. Kory, I'm sorry your family has to go home, but I am thankful they were able to spend time with you.
One thing I thought of tonight was that time that you took me on a 4-wheeler ride just a little while after my dad died. I don't even know if you remember it, but at the time, I remember being comforted by looking up at the stars and knowing he was in heaven. I don't know how heaven works, but if it is possible, I'm sure Dad is taking care of little Jayde.
We'll keep checking the blog and lifting you up in prayer.

Though I am not in your shoes I do know what it feels like to experience loss. My Dad went to be with his Father Oct6,2005 and my daughter was born 5 days later. Then within a 1 1/2 years, I miscarried at 16 weeks. I can tell you that there are times when you just think that your heart can't endure anymore, but lean on God and he will get you through it.Looking back, there were people God put in my path to minister to me, and later on I was able to minister to others because of my experience. My husband was my rock of support always telling me God won't put more on us than what we can handle and helping me to focus on God's word. I am so glad you have such a supportive family as well. Not only your blood family, but your brothers and sisters in Christ. We are all praying for you and lifting you up to the Father. 1Peter 5:7,10-11 says Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about what happens to you. In his kindness God called you to his eternal glory by means of Jesus Christ. After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strenthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.All power is his forever and ever. Amen.

So many thanks to Rachel for keeping this blog updated. It is a comfort for all who read it as well as a tremendous comfort for Kory and Jaymie. Barbara Eatherly's sweet remarks remind us that God has wonderful days ahead filled with joy. God bless and strenghten you both.

I just want you to know that I am still praying for you 3. I thought of you all day yesterday and was reminded of how that day felt for my husband and I when it came time to bury our twin girl. It was bitter sweet. We had friends that couldnt understand how we managed to get thru it all, but knowing we had our other daughter back in Dallas fighting for her life we had to be strong. And of course we couldnt be strong without our Lord and Savior, family and friends. I know your family has touched so many lives as ours did as well. Continue to look to HIM for comfort. Your family was also mentioned at our church yesterday, Macedonia Baptist in Longview.
God Bless

We love you and continue to pray for you and praise God for his faithful answers to all these prayers.

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Fear the LORD, you his saints,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
Psalm 34:8-9
But as for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
of your salvation all day long,
though I know not its measure.
I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD;
I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.
Since my youth, O God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Psalm 71:114-17
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
Psalm 36:9

We continue to think of you each day and check the blog to stay posted. Our prayers are being lifted up for you each day. I am so thankful to hear how Kanyon is progressing. I wanted to share a scripture with you that encouraged us after our loss. After Jesus healed the blind man, he was questioned by many. His answer was simple, "This happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." I truly believe that God's power is being displayed through this situation and your family. I know that people are going to know about Christ and his love because of your faith and trust in him. Thanks for being an example to all of us of trusting and holding on to a God that won't let us down! Love ya'll.

Someone asked me this weekend on our church's womens retreat-why I was able to be joyful with all that my family is going through. And I replied with 1 Thess 4:13, saying that we don't lose hope but trust that God is soveriegn. I don't know who they were looking at though b/c I don't really feel all that joyful but I am holding on to the hope that God has a plan for us bigger than anything we can imagine. I continue to pray and ask God to interceed on my half for you all. Yesterday, I took time out to have my own memorial service and I walked away feeling renewed and at peace. I pray the same for you, Jaymie. I can't imagine the range of emotion you must be feeling. And sometimes words just seem so trivial, so I pray that you can take our attempts to say "the right words" and sift through them to hear the bottom line. which is we love you dearly, pray for you coninually and rest in the assurance that one day we will all meet again in Heaven. what a reunion it will be!

Phillips Family,

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I heard about you from Jan Nichols at Wylie Church of Christ. Stories like yours hit close to my heart because I delivered triplets very premature as well. The loss you have suffered was a constant fear of mine for months. It is no doubt a fear unlike what most new parents must feel, but I do believe it makes for a stronger NICU parent. It is a constant roller coaster ride with good days, bad days and everything in between. My heart and prayers are with you all. Please know that I am a friend to talk to if you ever need. I pray for strength, endurance and peace for all of you.
