Update - with pictures!

I talked to Jaymie tonight, and Kanyon had another good day today. They did not take his ventilator out and put in the CPAP today like they had planned because his doctor was called away from the hospital. They are going to try tomorrow, so keep that in your prayers. His feedings are up to 12cc and he is digesting them well. Jaymie got to change his diaper and take his temperature for the first time today, which she was excited about. Also, his umbilical cord came off and he now has a beautiful tiny belly button. Here are some pictures from the last few days:

Here's Jaymie and Kanyon with Melissa, one of Kanyon's favorite nurses:

Here's Jaymie and Gay with Kanyon:

Here's a glimpse of Kanyon taking a peek at the outside world:
and taking a peek at his doting grandma:
Look at those precious little feet! He was kicking Jaymie's hand.
closer view:
I think he's going to have big feet like his daddy!

I found out today that March of Dimes Walk America is doing a walk to help save premature babies. I am going to work with Ricky to try and raise a team within the youth group that will walk, but I thought I would pass this information on to everyone here so that they could form teams of there own or go at it solo.

http://www.walkamerica.com/

All the information should be on that website. The walk here in Longview is going to be next saturday (the 21st) at Teague Park. I just wanted to encourage everyone to join in this organization somehow, wether it be walking or donating money.

P.S. Would you please mention this in a blog? I'm not sure how many people will read this comment... Thank you so much!

I noticed someone's comment about the March of Dimes walk. I am a NICU nurse and wanted to encourage those of you that can't walk to find a way to donate money to the cause! This is a great thing and has helped and will help a lot of families. You can go to the website or contact a local hospital and donate money.

Jaymie and Kory,

I am glad that you are getting to participate in the things like diaper changes and temperature taking. It's always exciting to let the parents do that for their babies when they visit. He is looking healthier and I am so happy that he has tolerated his feeds this far! You guys are doing great and showing such strength and perseverance! I'm VERY proud of you.

Wow! Don't we have a great God! I have chills not only looking at Kanyon (love those feet!) but also seeing the love overflowing on the faces of Jaymie and Gay. I come home from work every day, check Kanyon's blog (Thanks, Rachel!), and turn on praise and worship music to praise the God who hears us! Keep going BOLDLY to the throne! I will! Love you all!

Jaymie and Kory, Am just catching up on the last couple weeks pictures and news! Kanyon seems to be progressing quite nicely! I just finished my rotation in OB at St. Joseph's Hospital here in Polson, assisting with two vaginal births and two c-sections. It still amazes me to see how the whole system works hand in hand!
Several students in my class are following Kanyon's progress, sort of virtual nursing. He's famous already! You're all in my thoughts! With affection, Kimm
